“The Freedom of Surrender” - 10am Traditional Eucharist

This sermon teaches that in response to God’s abundant mercy, believers are called to offer their whole lives to Him as living sacrifices rather than allowing fear, shame, rejection, or the expectations of the world to shape who they become. Through the story of Jan’s healing from painful words spoken by her father, it illustrates how encountering the truth and love of Jesus can renew the mind, bring forgiveness, and free people to embrace the gifts and callings God has placed within them. Drawing from Romans 12, the message emphasizes that genuine transformation occurs through surrender, as God renews our hearts and minds and reveals how our unique gifts can be used to serve others within the body of Christ. Ultimately, the sermon calls Christians to lay before God every part of their lives—the beautiful and the broken—and receive His grace, allowing Him to transform their pain, weakness, and circumstances into a holy calling marked by love, service, and faithful discipleship.
